40-Year Recertification Education Series Press Release
SERIES HOSTED AND PRESENTED BY: M2E CONSULTING ENGINEERS, AFFINITY MANAGEMENT, GLOBALPRO RECOVERY, AND SIEGFRIED RIVERA
MIAMI, Fla. Friday, August 27,2021 — In the aftermath of the horrific tragedy of the collapse of the Champlain Towers South, many South Fla. condominium associations now approaching the 40/50-year recertification process are raising questions about their buildings’ structural and financial health. To help address these growing concerns as thoroughly as possible, several of South Fla.’s largest professional services providers for condominium associations have joined forces to offer condo association directors and members a complimentary 12-part live educational series covering several aspects of the recertification process.
The series is being hosted and presented by South Fla. property management firm Affinity Management, property insurance coverage experts GlobalPro, m2e Consulting Engineers, and the law firm of Siegfried Rivera. Every 1-hour event in the series will feature live discussions and webinars, podcast episodes, educational blogs, presentations and additional supporting materials from attorneys, engineers, insurance professionals and property managers. The first episode, titled “General Overview of the 40/50 Year Recertification Process,” took place on Thursday, Aug. 19 at 10 a.m. The next event is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 9 at 11 a.m. Online registration are available at StructuralRecertification.com.
“The need for a series such as this became apparent to all four of our firms following the horror of the tragedy in Surfside,” said Steven M. Siegfried, managing partner of Siegfried Rivera. “Structural integrity concerns have now become a major focus for those residing in older buildings that are approaching the 40-year recertification process. This series will cover all of the different components of this complex process and provide participants with helpful tips on preventative maintenance measures they can take in their communities.”
“The tragic collapse in Surfside has brought concerns regarding the structural integrity of aging buildings to the forefront, and we are proud to provide our community with a comprehensive series focused on educating attendees on how to tackle the 40/50-year recertification process,” said Misha Mladenovic, PE, president of m2e Consulting Engineers. “I haven’t seen any other offerings for such an extensive program on this vitally important subject, and I am thrilled to partner with other highly experienced and knowledgeable professionals to share all of our insights.”
