Summary / Objective
  • In charge of multiple major projects of the highest complexity requiring “out of box” thinking and creative solutions. Leads groups of senior engineers and is directly responsible for budget and manpower estimates for multiple projects.
Essential Functions
  • Manages Senior Engineers on several significant sized projects critical to the M2E’s success. Ensures solutions are found to resolve complex issues or client needs.
  • Assists with identifying sales prospects, negotiating with clients, creating proposals, and the successful closure of sales efforts.
  • In charge of the management of the department’s staffing, resources, and mentoring, and maintaining a best-in-class engineering department.
  • Plays a leading role in the recruiting activities of the department in order to ensure consistency in departmental efficiency.
  • Independently identifies complex problems and devises optimal and innovative solutions to problems that often cross organizational boundaries. Proven management experience.
  • Responsible for long range planning on multiple major projects including project status/time tracking and budgeting. Responsible for multiple major projects and budgets.
  • Delegates tasks necessarily and resolves employee issues.
  • Mentors staff of various skills and personalities, including both technical staff and other managers.
  • Negotiate complex arrangements with other groups/teams, contractors, developers and other clients.
  • Reviews project documentation and reports prepared by staff for accuracy and completeness.
  • Learning is a required assignment for all employees.
  • 8-15 years of post-undergraduate degree work experience, which must have involved construction, design, inspection or estimating.
Education Level & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Master’s Degree Preferred
  • Active Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or active registration in another state with the ability to reciprocate to Florida within six months of beginning employment.
  • Possession of a valid inspector license (building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
  • Possession of a valid State of Florida Driver’s License.
Education Area
  • Preferred mechanical, electrical, civil, or structural.
  • Consistently demonstrates extremely high levels of technical knowledge, ingenuity and creativity.
  • Developing and applying advanced technologies, engineering principles, theories and concepts.
  • Possess broad knowledge about the design and construction/installation of building systems outside of his/her specialty.
  • Widely recognized as a technical expert within the professional community.
  • Providing guidance to several groups/teams of the organization.
  • Exercising independent initiative/judgment in setting and implementing goals.
